A reasonably priced beginner diatonic button accordion - this is an instrument that will grow with you. As your playing experience develops, it will be versatile enough to allow you to expand into other genres of music. Three row accordions allow the versatility of "cross row" playing, to really get the accordion to sing.
Hohner Panther Commonly Asked Questions:
Question: What types of music is the Hohner Panther used for?
Answer: We have seen the Panther used in so many types of music, this list is continually growing. The Panther is used in: Norteno, Tejano, Conjunto, Rock, Country, Cajun, Folk, Zydeco, Tex-Mex, Polka, Traditional, Rhumba, Samba and Waltz.
The Blues are a blast to play on the Panther. You will use the "pulled" notes on this accordion like you would use the "draw" notes on a harmonica. GCF accordions like the Panther are ideal for blues in A, C, D, E, G.
We often are asked: "I'm left-handed - Does Hohner make a left handed button accordion?"
The answer is No. If you speak with Matt here at Music For All, he'll tell you his wish is to be left handed, as lefties have a much better natural ability to work the Bass buttons on an accordion, than righties.
Question: How are the notes arranged?
Answer: The "In" Treble notes on a diatonic "button box" are arranged similarly to a diatonic harmonica, using the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes (the chord or triad) of the scale of C major. The notes of the scale of C major as you may know are: C, D, E, F, G, A, B.
